Karl's 1949 Ford Kustom Car
Taken at the Montgomery Car show held in the Montgomery suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.
I don't seem to see too many true custom cars at shows these days. This beauty is an exception. The top has been chopped with some radical changes made to the rear roof line. The lake pipes are beautifully incased. It has fender skirts, hood louvers and Frenched headlights along with several other well done touches.
I had seen it a few weeks before, but didn't get a decent shot because the hood was up. This time I met the owner and he graciously lowered the hood and told me a bit about the car. He says it is a real pleasure to drive given that it has had several suspension upgrades, but the thing I had missed when I glanced at the flathead motor was that it is blown. To find a car this cool that still has a flathead motor is one thing, but I didn't even know they made blowers for them. Way cool old school move. Now if I could just get it out somewhere where I could get some really good clean shots of it that would do it justice.
