1939 Cadillac Series 75 Imperial 7 Passenger Limousine

Shorty's and Lenny's Garage in the Oakley neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. In June, my friend told me that his neighbor had a 1939 Cadillac that he bought in 1959 for around $100 and had used for camping trips for a few years. Once he married and began having a family, he parked it in his garage where it remained for a very long time (I'm thinking at least 40 years). He recently got it out of the garage and set about trying to get it in running order so he could give it to his son. I told my friend to let me know when it was out so I could try to get some photos of it, but he never saw it out again.

Yesterday, I decided to drive by Shorty's and Lenny's Garage (a few blocks from my friend's house) to see if a coupe I had seen there when I didn't have my camera was around. Turns out that the coupe was on Lenny's COE hauler inside the shop where I couldn't get a picture, but I saw this cool old sedan outside. As soon as I saw what it was, I immediately thought it was the '39 Cadillac my friend had told me about. Lenny confirmed my suspicions.

Lenny was working on the V8 flathead engine when I walked up and had it purring like a kitten. The body has a few nicks and bruises, but is in remarkably great condition. The interior is original and also in good condition including the wood trim. This is a really great car that looks like it could be cherried up with little difficulty. I found one on the internet with less than 30,000 miles on it that looked almost perfect. They were asking $80,000. Obviously, this car would be worth restoring. The ad said that only 638 of these cars were built and less than 30 are known to still exist.
