The newest End Station Refrigerator (ESR) cryogenic refrigerator will replace ESR1. The Cryogenics Department is installing ESR2 to support the future needs for cooling large superconducting magnets and cryogenic targets within Experimental Halls A, B & C. This refrigerator will produce 2.5 times more capacity than the ESR1. The team began designing this plant in 2020. Since then, the fabrication and installation have been completed, and the commissioning process has started.
