The Shining City on the Hill

I am aware that this flag symbolizes many things to many people across the globe, and that not all of it would be considered good.
However, for me it symbolizes the fact that 232 years ago today a courageous group of men decided to risk all to create a better life for themselves and their families.
I don't believe that America's best days are behind us - and I am reminded when I view this flag fluttering in front of our house that the United States still can be the shining city on the hill that has beckoned so many millions over the last two centuries.
I am proud to be an American.
