Joan's Pond - Jackson Hole, Wyoming

© Jeff R. Clow

I have been traveling to Grand Teton National Park for a decade....and have explored every paved and dirt road. But this spring I had a special moment when I was traversing a well traveled road and saw this spring pond out of the corner of my eye. It literally had appeared like magic this spring after being nothing more than a bison wallow for ten years.

The heavy winter snow on the Tetons and in the Jackson Hole Valley had made this a real live pond with a wonderful Teton reflection.

I was chatting with my good friend Joan Earles when I spied this new pond as we drove by it....and I immediately stopped and named it Joan's Pond since it does not show up on any maps of the area.

So, at least for a few brief days this spring, it was a beautiful pond that we all fell in love with ..... and here's hoping you will as well.
