Khalsa 2016. Toronto

This annual Sikh celebration is of great historical significance to those who are Sikh. In a sense, it's a birthday celebration of the founding of the religion and is a joyous occasion. There was a huge parade today which concluded in front of City Hall where there was celebrating, speech-making, and lots and lots of food.

Nathan Phillips Square was spectacular with all the bright colors for which Sikhs are known. I wandered through the crowd taking some street portraits and visiting with some of the celebrants who were very friendly and appreciated my interest in the occasion.
