McDonald Canyon early

McDonald Canyon begins modestly as a creek among rocks, but the water drops and the walls climb quickly. Wildflowers, scampering lizards, wary cottontails, pictographs and ruins abound. The southern terminus is at the Colorado River. Rabbit Valley, McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, Colorado.
