Alpine Primrose
Alpine primrose, Primula angustifolia, is a native alpine plant. Like many other cushion plants in the windy land above the trees, moss campion grows only a few inches tall. The cushion plants grow slowly, and size is a poor predictor of age--we know that some grow to be many decades old. Photographed at 11,300 feet on Niwot Ridge in the Front Range of Colorado.
