GN Gopher Grabbing Orders at Central Avenue 1970

Here’s the BN’s ex-GN “Badger” passenger train in August 1970, led by locomotive GN 512 taking orders at Central Avenue. The train-order signal indicates they can take them on the fly. Look closely and you’ll see the engineer leaning out of the cab window to grab his paperwork from the top fork. Look even closer and you’ll see the conductor in his white shirt standing in the open doorway of the first passenger coach preparing to grab his set of orders from the lower fork.
