Some days things just click

Have you ever had one of those days where it seems you get more "keepers" in one day than in the prior couple weeks? Sometimes the light is just as perfect as it can get. It probably didn't hurt that I was shooting with some good equipment, too.

Last week I picked up a used Canon 85mm f/1.2 . . pretty much my dream lens. I'd gone a week of having almost nothing to shoot, then it all came in just a short hour or so on Sunday while snowshoeing on Mt. Rainier with Elena and Hilary - the hour prior to the blizzard hitting.

So rather than post the normal list of "outtakes", I thought it might be nicer to put a few to music.

Oh, and regarding the little 'friend' at the end of the slideshow - that was just a cap on the good luck that day. He crossed the road in front of us and when I stopped the car to grab the camera, he hopped up on a snowbank next to the passenger side of the car looking for a handout. Those last two pictures are taken - literally - from the driver's seat of my car, out the passenger window, at 85mm on a full frame (that's like shooting it with the nifty 50 for the crop sensor folks; and granted I did crop it down to get that final composition).
