>>> Opossum On The Move! <<<
The Virginia opossum (Didelphis virginiana) ranges from Costa Rica north thru Mexico and the central and eastern half of the U.S. to southeastern Canada. Found in woodlands or thick brush, usually near water. It is the only North American marsupial; a marsupial being a mammal that has a pouch where it carries its young. The young opossoms are not fully developed when they enter the pouch, and must spend the first two months of their life in their mother's pouch.
