Festival of Sleep
Otillie and PJ consider Jefa's latest origami sculpture while Gilligan and Roxy dream about places to go.
Otillie: Maybe it's to mark your space. Ya know, like PJ's room.
PJ: But then there should be an apostrophe.
Jefa: It's PJs. Like pajamas, jim-jams, jammies.
Otillie: Wouldn't that have an apostrophe?
PJ: Nope. An apostrophe signifies possession. Plurals just get a plain s in English.
Jefa: Yeah, she's right, though it's commonly used. It's sometimes referred to as a greengrocer's apostrophe because it is so broadly abused on signs.
Otillie: So it isn't for PJ? Good, cause I don't like it. It's kind of scary. And also not fair that she gets one when we share a room.
PJ: I'm relieved. I don't like it either and I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings.
Jefa: Noted. It's going in the recycling. I still haven't worked out the bugs on this process.
Note: The girls have been in their PJs since we moved into this house in 2020. They might enjoy dressing up but I don't exactly remember where their clothes are.
Latest Note: Yes, these girls are all still in their jim-jams. I have found and sorted all the clothes, but the bedroom diorama is, well, in the bedroom and it seems Mr Bigg is always sleeping in there when I want to work with them.
