BaD 5 February 2024: Decor - 1980s

In the 80s I was too busy working 70 hours a week in an electronics factory to care about decor. My current decor is much like the scene in Pinkie's workshop below. Lots of painted white wood and the walls are covered with art. It is fascinating, though, how these trends keep recycling. The Eames chair in this picture (my husband and I collect wee chairs) was designed in 1956 but was a popular item through the 90s,

Pinkie, our resident seamstress, wears a dress made from the toe of a sock that was leftover from another project. It reminded me of a dress my mother used to wear when I was a little girl in the fifties and even has a ruffled petticoat underneath. Roxie (whose outfit fits well in the 80's) will vacate her dad's chair when he gets home from the office -- of course for her mother, working as a homemaker is a full time job.
