a spoonful of vodka
Macro Mondays theme: A Spoonful
Clear liquid seemed the obvious choice to show off the image in the bowl of this tiny spoon. I'd like to pretend that the drunk turtle is climbing out of vodka, but I confess it is only water.
The spoon brooch was a promotional item issued by the defunct FINE ARTS STERLING SILVER COMPANY - Morgantown, PA. Founded in 1944, it was the sole distributor of six sterling flatware patterns made by the International Silver Company. This pattern, Processional, was introduced in 1947, the year I was born. The same size as a salt spoon, it is 2 3/8" long.
