Pentax ME Super with 50mm f/1.7

I was at a braderie (sort of a boot fair/market) this morning. I found this for £20. I know, the lens has fungus that we can even see on this picture. Maybe I was silly but I could not resist it. It seems to work very well and I might try to disassemble the lens to clean it. What do you think? Was I crazy? Honestly...
