Absolute Terror

Where to begin... This ride, "Dinosaur", is probably the most intense theme park ride I've ever been on in my life. It's a Disney ride in a Disney park so you expect that you'll drive around in the dark and see some dinosaurs and a T-Rex will probably jump out at you a few times and spook you and that will be that.

No.

Pretty much the first thing you see once this ride gets going is this baby dinosaur getting devoured: this ride lets you know exactly what you're in for from the get go. From baby death, it's one long assault on your life. Throughout the whole ride you are being chased by a Carnotaurus that you can hear rumbling and snarling behind you. Said Carnotaurus will jump out at you every so often, helping to ensure your pants are ruined. The ride is very dark: it often goes completely black and quiet just build up the tension for some horrific terror to jump out at you. Did I mention that the entire premise of the ride is that a meteor is going to hit the earth and kill everything on it? Yeah, just in case the dinosaurs weren't enough. By the end the ride your "announcer" flatly tells you that you are not going to make it AKA you are going to die. The ride used to be called "Countdown to Extinction." No joke.

I'm a grown man and while I didn't fear for my actual life I was in a weird state of "holy crap this ride is ridiculously intense what could they possibly do next to -- OH MY GOD what the hell is that!!!??!!!" The best part is the unsuspecting 6 year old kids whose parents take them on this ride because "little Johnny loves dinosaurs!" About 1 minute into this ride you can see the parents look at each other with that "what have we done" face as little Johnny bursts into tears and wets himself. Enjoy those therapy bills, Mom and Dad.

In conclusion: Best. Ride. Ever.
