Flatiron Building Wheeling WV
by jcsullivan24
This building, located on Main Street just south of the Intermodal Parking Garage, was built in 1895-96 by the National Tube Company, one of the several companies that eventually merged to form Wheeling Steel. In later years, the building served as the offices of the Wheeling Steel and Iron Company. When the current City County Building was under construction in the mid 1950s, this structure served as the temporary City Hall. Later uses included real estate offices, the Stark Artificial Limb Company, and apartments. Friends of Wheeling toured this building on April 1, 2015. It has been purchased by Kevin Duffin and he is in the process of renovating the structure.
