8/365: Time for German

Not long ago, I read a delightful mystery, Three Bags Full, by Leonie Swann. It's translated from German, and the plot centers around a flock of sheep, who are trying to solve the mystery of their shepherd's unexplained death. I was happy to hear that there was a sequel, until I discovered that it is only available in German.

All was not lost, however. I took three years of German in high school and another year in college, and ever since I visited Berlin two years ago, I've been working on improving my fluency with ten minutes of Duolingo every day. My husband gave me the German-English dictionary a year ago, and this year, for Christmas, he tracked down a copy of the sequel, Garou. So far, I've worked my way through the prologue, and I'm ready to start Chapter 1.
