U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Nadja West was promoted to her current rank and sworn in as the 44th surgeon general of the Army by U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley at a ceremony Feb. 9, 2016, on the Fort Myer portion of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall.
