Icerya samaraia scale on Serianthes kanehirae

Steatococcus scale is a pest found in insular Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, including Yap and Palau. Here shown infesting gumor, Serianthes kanehirae. Biological controls of this scale have been introduced to Palau and elsewhere.
