Falcataria moluccana is one of the world's fastest growing trees, and it can reach 130 ft (40 m) in height with diameters of over 6 ft (1.8 m). Native to Maluku (Indonesia), it has been widely used as a plantation tree, mainly for pulpwood. In Hawaii and the Pacific it has become a pest, invading native forests and causing damage to houses and powerlines and blocking roads when felled by windstorms. Hawaii-Pacific Weed Risk Assessment rating high (8): NOT recommended for planting in areas where the tree is not already widespread (plantpono.org/hpwra-plant.php?id=545). Commonly called albizia or Moluccan albizia in Hawaii and formerly known as Albizia falcata, Albizia falcataria, and Paraserienthes falcataria. Also called Moluccan sau and white siris.
