Artichoke: Wentworth Castle, Barnsley

Authenticity demands that artichokes are grown in the flowerbeds at Wentworth Castle.

I think they look well and are of a suitably commanding height to add real interest.

This is close up of one of the artichoke heads.

Whether they are edible or only ornamental probably needs establishing.
