Saigon Farewell-10

A farewell to Saigon and to Vietnam. 15 days ago I didn't really know what to expect. But now that I have experienced this country, I take away from the experience one great thing.... Vietnam is filled with friendly, warm and enduring people. Men, women and children that work hard and are quick to return a smile or a wave. Before I left for Vietnam, I had business cards printed up that had my name on them plus the word 'photographer' I didn't know what else to put at the time. Now, 5000 and more shots later (4000 at least that will be deleted!) I can honestly say the term rests easier on my shoulders. I've tried to capture my experience. I wanted to look through the lens and see people. I wanted to push myself to ask for permission to snap a picture and engage in a conversation that was more gestures and facial expressions than actual words. I truly feel I did something good here, good for myself and understanding a culture half a world away from me. I hope you have gotten a taste of this too. Now, on to Cambodia for a few days, and then home!
