Twilight Cover Poster shot comparison attempt
Strobist info: Alienbees AB1600 in the back with 7" reflector turned so just the edge cought the rim. I left my grids at home, so I had to do that. The main light is a Alienbees AB400 through a large white umbrella. Triggered by pocketwizard plus radio slaves. (If I had them, I would recommend using a strip bank instead of the umbrella. Each person shot separately with opposite lighting and combined in Photoshop CS3.
The right image is from the movie and property of Summit entertainment. The Left side is all me.
I am a big fan of Joey Lawrence. He is the original photographer who took the one on the right. His site is here: www.joeyl.com I want his career someday, and he's 3 years younger than me. Funny who my role models are. :)
I am not really a twilight fanatic like most people.. I'll see New Moon when it comes out on dvd... but I liked the look Joey created and my brother's girlfriend Britney wanted to see if I could re-do the shot after we ate Thanksgiving dinner at her parents house. She is a hardcore twilight fan (playing Bella), and my brother is one the left (playing Edward). He's not a fan really. I think he would rather be forced to see the movie again than get his picture taken though. They both did great, however, and we did these shots in about 30 minutes or less.
Let me know if I did a good job or not. My website is here: www.jayceg.com
