"it started its journey as the works Schnitzer car for the World Championship in 1976, being officially entered as BMW Motorsport GmBH – Schnitzer. It competed at all the rounds that year, with results as follows…
LeMans – DNF while 8th overall – Quester/Grohs
ADAC 1000 km – 1st Quester/Krebs/Peltier
Oesterreich 1000 km – 1st Quester/Nilsson
Watkins Glen 6-hours – 5th Peterson/Quester
Dijon 6-hours – 6th Quester/Krebs/Peterson"
The car was then sold off to the Memphis Racing team, repainted and run in the German Championship. At the end of the 1977 season the car was sold off again and shipped to Indonesia where it competed wearing the Bentoel livery until then engine was damaged due to a cracked oil pan, the car then spent 15 years in a barn, forgotten.
In the mid 90's the car was then purchased and shipped over to the UK, and had a total restoration carried out by Roundel Racing, before finally seeing the track again in 2006 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
