sun worship

this evening, as i was trying to capture the outlying ares for the "utata" group - i noticed how intense the sunset was - burning through the pollution that chokes jakarta. it is this very pollution that i abhor which produces such vibrant sunsets.

 

not having anything photogenic in the foreground, i decided to zoom in a bit closer.

 

from photoshop - cropped, interpolated, brought levels to black only for the sake of noise - i didn't alter the colors at all, nor the intensity, noise reduction.

 

voila. cheating? perhaps, but damn it's cool to see the sun so large.
