Only an echo of the glory it once was
An attempt at "digital art," in which I start with a photograph (of my own) and digitally enhance and manipulate its features to create a 'digital painting'.
I do not use Photoshop though; I work primarily with Fireworks instead.
The object chosen for this artwork is the crumbling ruins of what was once the facade of a palatial building. It still stands well in the heart of metropolitan Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), in India, surrounded by contemporary buildings, shopping malls, parks, and other modern amenities. They say that the land that this building stands on was tied up in litigation for decades. Now, all that has been resolved; this echo of a glory of yesteryears will be torn down and, in its place, will rise a modern structure. Perhaps, a highrise.
Not a single person I know is happy to see this charming edifice go away. The man sittng in the patio (do you see him?) will likely be heartbroken when this structure dissolves into history.
Looks much nicer on black, I think.
