The rock wall at Ft. Fisher, North Carolina
Something from last summer's trip to the Carolina Beach area. I'd seen a couple of images in the past of the rock wall at the tip of Ft. Fisher, but this was my first time visiting. It gives a great leading line to 'infinity' :) I wanted to get a few shots, but unfortunately it was a busy night out there and hard to hold folks back from their own exploring and walking about....so, this was the only one I could snap. If you ever visit, it is ridiculously slippery and watch the tides, the water comes in splashing up on the rocks making them even worse to traverse. Probably one of the more precarious situations I've been in safety wise...as from this spot it was still a few minutes walk back to land. Also...to be transparent, it's a 30 sec exposure, but I wanted much longer, but couldn't...so I did my own blur of the sky to closer match the vision I wanted for the scene.
Anyway...thank goodness Friday's almost here!! :)
