Assignment Two

I am most certainly a novice as best. Totally new to the digital world and the editing tools. I used Pixlr for this assignment and I wanted to give Layers a go. I first had to crop Brownie out of one image and merge her into the landscape image (I used the Lasso function). In the photo of Brownie the sun was almost directly overhead so I inverted the photo so she appears to be looking toward the sun breaking through the clouds in the landscape photo. I had to burn sections of the top of her head and the back of her right ear to darken the areas making the lighting look as if it was more in front rather than on top of her head. I used the Curves function to darken the clouds behind her to draw the focus more to the light. Both images we converted to black & white because I thought it made the image more striking. I attempted to use the Logan filter after that but it just seemed to be too much so I removed it. Mild adjustments were made in the lighting but not too much. Of the edits I made I think the Layers effects and the burning to change the lighting on her head really give the photo some personality.
