Binary Pair

Nothing outstanding here (you are looking at my photostream, after all ;). Just another one of the experiments I've been fascinated with lately. I'd seen this concept somewhere before, I believe on one of my contacts photostreams (if you think you deserve credit let me know - I searched for the picture I remembered in my head for about an hour in various photostreams). A brilliant idea, the photographer used film (if I remember correctly) and took one typical sunset exposure then flipped the camera over and double exposed the film with the reciprocated image. Previously, when I had found out that the D40 offered the strange ability to (in a way) double expose in camera I nearly had a hart attack. (I've been looking to upgrade to a cheaper old manual film Nikon for a while... I hear the FM2 is quite nice.) So, when I was out one evening earlier this month, I decided to give a couple different ideas a whirl. This was my favorite brainchild of the bunch.

Postscript as of January 26th,

I found the original inspiration for this shot. It turned out to be from Zeb Andrews' photostream (I initially had a hunch it was: his work has been among the most inspiring to me, on Flickr and otherwise). I linked his image below.
