[365/365] Things are Looking Up
Well I have finally completed this 365 Photo-a-Day project (Yes I know its a Leap Year so there is 1 more photo left for tomorrow - though I did intend to have a day off lol).
I have learned a great deal since 1/365, though I still accept that I have much to learn - more so it seems than when I first started. Back then I "didn't know" what I didn't know ;)
I have learned to appreciate the art and talent of my fellow photographers on this journey, gaining some great friends along the way - I have learned how to take constructive criticism for my personal growth and on occasion been brave enough to offer the same to help other developing 'toggers.
I have learned that you cant take good photos unless you actually take your camera with you everywhere you go - sometimes inspiration or "that moment" is the parting of clouds or simply stepping forward, out of your comfort zone, to get the shot.
The year for us, sadly, began with the death of a stranger - despite the heroic efforts of my wife and then an air ambulance team, but 2012 has drawn to a close with the life of our wonderful baby girl Bethany-Rose :)
Every day of 2012 has been recorded with a unique photograph, the first time in my life where I can say, with clarity, that I can remember each and every day and each and every memory.
If you are new to a 365 or thinking about doing one soon - please do not hesitate. It is a wonderful experience and journey :)
I have not decided if I am going to continue a 365 in 2013. I am hoping to do a picture a week so that I can have 6 days learning to process a 'good' photo - though I am still toying with the idea of a "stranger a day" - though I dont meet that many people commuting alone to work...
Thank you to all my friends and followers here on Flickr. Without your daily photos to inspire and amaze I may have given up the first time I lost confidence in my photography - you all helped me stick with it and I hope I helped in return. And also a very special thank you to my Wife, Chelle for all the love and support during this year and all my frustrations when I felt my photos were not good enough - I love you xxx
