Mutual respect...

This one I took on our mini safari to see trained monkeys, water buffalos and elephants during our visit in Phuket, Thailand.

 

"Elephants and mahouts are like brothers, parents and children, and best friends to each other. We must work as a team.''

 

Fact:

Karen Mahouts take care of elephants in Thailand and in many cases these men have been with the animal for most of their lives as their fathers and ancestors did before them.

The Karen are regarded as the best handlers of elephants due to their relaxed temperament and their culture includes hundreds of years of experience training and working with elephants.

 

This one is one of my personal favorites.
