Active Assignment Weekly December 11 - 18: Bubble(s)

WIT: I've always wanted to try this, although I have absolutely no equipment for it, lighting or otherwise, so I had to improvise. I made some homemade bubble solution, and since I don't own any bubble wands, I used a spatula with holes in it and a ricer. Blew bubbles through the ricer onto the spatula, and set it on an upside-down pot. Took pics till I got ones I liked. It was tricky to focus because the movement of the colours was fast, and I don't own a macro lens either.

The colours are caused by the light reflecting off the bubble surface, depending on the thickness of the bubble wall, so as the bubble gets thinner in some spots than others, the different colours appear. When it is about to burst, the colours become dark yellowish hues, and even black. Hence there is a small window in which you can shoot to get the most colour. This is pretty much the colours, with just a bit of brightening in post, and cropping to get the "planet" look.
