Putin will go down in history as a tyrant and war criminal killing tens of thousands of innocent people in order to revive some sort of Russian "manifest destiny" — Manifest Destiny, in U.S. history, the supposed inevitability of the continued territorial expansion of the boundaries of the United States westward to the Pacific and beyond.
