Enrolling at Yale in 1963

Today my granddaughter Whitney followed her mother and me into the Old Campus at Yale — a wonderful photographer, thinker and young woman with a strong sense of purpose, character and style. You can see her award winning photography at www.whitneyblue.com/school-shootings

Proud grandfather is allowed to praise!

She’s one of three Colorado high school students — and 161 high school seniors nationwide — recognized as Presidential Scholars for their accomplishments in academics, the arts and career and technical education. She was also one of only twenty arts scholars named this year.

The photo above shows me ready to unload my belongings for a year full of momentous events — like the assassination of JFK that November 22.

Yes, the tie is a McKenzie plaid. Kind of funny to wear a tie for such an event.
