Lou Genise and Sarah "Unkle" as well as others conducted one of the first fire performance acts in Santa Barbara, CA. Lou personally worked with fire marshalls for small band-type venues to ensure fire safety.
His expertise paid off when the Los Angeles fire community asked him to be a primary representative in proposing safety regulations to the city fire marshalls so that fire performance could be an accepted art form in party venues across the city. He did all of this while very ill but he was too eager to help support what he felt was his first true art.
