A Travel Back In Time February 10, 2017
The road trip I took last fall from Seattle to San Francisco and back was one of best road trips I have taken. It was very nice to revisit some of the sights along the way and visiting new ones. I absolutely fell in love with the town of Grass Valley, California. For being a small town (Small town coming from someone who lives in the greater Seattle Metro area, Kirkland where I live has close to 88,000), just about 13,000 people it has a lot of charm and history.
This is the Del Oro Theatre’s spire. Construction started on the theater in 1941, with a grand opening on May 29, 1942. In 1993 the theater went through a major renovation, adding 2 additional theaters for a total of almost 850 seats. Some of the original art-deco details were lost, but the charm inside and out are very much visible.
