Saya
Saya bar, Nonbei-yokocho ("Drunkard's Alley"), Shibuya, Tokyo
There's an alley very close to Shibuya station lined with tiny hole-in-the-wall bars. Were it not for my friends, I would have walked right past it and never even realised what was down there. The two places that I saw were equally intimate, seating maybe 5 people downstairs. There was an upstairs area too that I didn't see.
The owner here was very friendly, and he knew his stuff - if I recall he was either a qualified or in-training beer and wine sommelier. Though we just popped in so my friend could say hello, we stayed for a while because the beer was so delicious.
