A roof in the Forbidden City. Yellow is the Emperor's color, thus practically all the roofs in the Forbidden City have this yellow glazed tile.

 

Elsewhere around Beijing green and grey roof tiles can be seen. These signified housing or otherwise for high-ranking officials and common officials, respectively.
