The flowers of white clover poking their heads above the blades of grass. It's latin name is Trillium repens and it is a herbaceous perennial that grows within my lawn. There are many benefits to growing clover in a lawn. Clearly it has beautiful flowers. It is also a legume, meaning it fixes nitrogen from the atmosphere to feed the grass. Interestingly it is also more tolerant of drought so the lawn appears greener in the summer.
