Every day is preparation for the rest of your life

These guys were ready to catch some fish! I cautiously watched them from afar, I didn't want to ruin their day together. Dad seemed somber, yet eager to show his son what to do. The boy seemed very excited, but patiently kept to himself, waiting on instructions from dad. They brought all sorts of stuff out on the ice with them, and within minutes, were fishing.

 

Looks like a lot of fun. I hope they did well and enjoyed their time together.

 

This shot makes me think about the day that I have children. I cannot wait for the days I will be able to go out and do this with my child. I, too, am a fisherman. My father and I used to go fish when I was young, and I always loved when we would go do stuff like this together. Regardless of if we caught anything, it was nice to be together, and as a young boy, I always learned something cool! That young man is growing up right in front of his fathers eyes and he doesn't even know it.
