Pier of the Year!
I had to include an up to date photo of South Parade Pier in my photostream, seeing as it's just won "Pier of the Year"!

Southsea South Parade Pier has been awarded the coveted accolade ‘Pier of the Year’ by members of the National Piers Society narrowly beating Felixstowe in second place, and Worthing in third. The award is in recognition of the commitment and investment the Ware family and their associate Bob Pettett have devoted to the 110 year old pier which allowed its re-opening in April 2017 after five years of closure during which time the pier suffered decay and storm damage. Now once again playing an important part in the tourist economy of the area, encouraging inward investment and injecting civic pride, the pier richly deserves the accolade ‘Pier of the Year’.
