Before I die - Benny Downham
From Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/book/show/1314332.Before_I_Die?ac=1
Tessa has just a few months to live.
Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It's her To Do Before I Die list. And number one is sex.
Released from the constraints of 'normal' life, Tessa tastes new experiences to make her feel alive while her failing body struggles to keep up.
Tessa's feelings, her relationships with her father and brother, her estranged mother, her best friend, her new boyfriend, all are painfully crystallized in the precious weeks before Tessa's time finally runs out.

My review - This was a hard book to read knowing what was going to happen at the end. I saw quite a bit of criticism of the book and wondered how anyone could really know exactly what they would do if they were in this situation. Being told your dying is one thing, but being only 16 years old and being told your going to die is pretty heavy. Tessa did some crazy things, but I can'y in good faith say I would have never have done the same. People deal with death in their own ways. You don't have to agree with it, but you should understand why they do the things they do. It's a powerful novel and it draws you straight in to her world.
