The 30ft octagonal Anstruther Lighthouse, also known as the Chalmers Memorial Lighthouse is located on Anstruther's west pier and guards the entrance to Anstruther Harbour. The lighthouse was built in 1880 in memory of Dr Thomas Chalmers a famous Scottish mathematician and political economist who studied at St. Andrews University.
