Dumbarton Rock from the edge of Levengrove Park. Dumbarton. Scotland
Levengrove Park Stretches all the way to the shores of the River Clyde as seen in the photo and overlooks the nearby Dumbarton Rock and its resident Iron Age castle. The striking rock formation is the plug of a volcanic basalt, which is around 240 ft high. Most famously, the castle was once used to briefly imprison William Wallace during the Wars of Independence.
