Unbelievable concert Monday night at Wiggins Park. The group played songs written entirely by group members. This was no walk through the park, these musicians played up beat tunes for 90 minutes with no break. Although average age of group members had to be in the 70,s (it would be except for two youngsters at 50 and 54), these guys played like they were in their 20's or 30's. On the final tune, Billy Hart played a drum solo that lasted at least ten minutes with the energy and passion of a teenager.
From left to right: Billy Harper, tenor sax; David Weiss, trumpet; Eddie Henderson, trumpet; Donald Harrison, alto sax and Cecil McBee, bass.
