Selkirks Strawberry

The June 2025 Strawberry Moon is the lowest moonrise on the horizon since 2006. This is due to a major lunar standstill - a pattern that occurs every 18.6 years when the moon sets and rises at its most northern and southern points on the horizon. It appears even larger than a Super Moon & won’t reoccur until 2043.

I especially liked the cloudy skies & a whiff of smoke from an early fire (for this time of year) in the Columbia Gorge/Dalles/Oregon area which added some nice drama to this photo for me.
