odd moment in the woods

I followed a deer track through the woods near an old slough and came across a crabapple tree. Just one, all by itself. The blossoms were falling very slowly in the light breeze, so much like snow that it was a wee bit disorienting. The ground around the tree was littered with pale, white blossoms.
