Operation Stack 13 - September 2008

After the fire in the Channel Tunnel that connects Britain to France,all traffic through the tunnel was suspended, leaving the cross channel ferries to take all the traffic.

With so much freight traffic bound for the continent, the M20 Motorway was closed between Maidstone and Ashford to park the trucks until they were allocated crossings on the ferries.
