Deadened Senses

Our lives become richer when we allow our senses to be stimulated by the images, sights, and sounds of the natural world. In experiencing Nature's creativity, we open our own vibrant inspiration.

One of the best ways to reduce emotional stress is to interrupt our daily routines with experiences that reacquaint us with Nature. As we are swept up, captivated, and enthralled by the displays of Nature's wonder, we sense the immutable balance that is our own source of creation, our Spirit.

Over the time, I have informally polled thousands of people about the things they do to take care of themselves. Going out into nature is at the top of the list. Returning to the natural world is my favorite self-care activity as well. Nature awakens deadened senses. It has the power to bring you back to life again.

Sitting on the rock beside Karakoram Highway, overlooking the Khunjerab River, and those mighty slides with the colors of precious stones, with sound running water and blowing air around my ears with display of those wonderful clouds over the high cliffs sure was one wonderful time to being my sleepy senses to life. That was my time in Upper Hunza, Start of Gojal Area, right after crossing Ahmedabad.
